1. Our service
Renovation Consultant provides independent renovation advice to homeowners in Singapore through in-person sessions, and add-on services such as quotation reviews. We don't carry out renovation works.
2. Sessions
- First session: 90 minutes, $300 (launch price). Follow-up session: 90 minutes, $150 (launch price), within 3 months of your last session.
- Sessions are held in person, anywhere in Singapore, by appointment, for up to 2 people, in English.
- A written summary and ID question checklist are sent within 3 days of the first session.
- Up to 2 quotations can be discussed in a session. More can be covered in a follow-up session or a quotation review.
- Quotation reviews and help for projects already under way are charged separately. We confirm the fee before we start.
Launch prices may change. The price confirmed when you book is the price you pay.
3. Booking and payment
- Book on WhatsApp. Your session is confirmed once we've agreed a date. We send a link to these terms with your booking confirmation.
- Payment is by PayNow, in full, before the session. We send PayNow details only after your date is confirmed.
- Please pay only to the PayNow details we send you on our official WhatsApp number.
4. Rescheduling and cancellations
- You can reschedule for free with at least 48 hours' notice.
- With less than 48 hours' notice, or if you don't turn up, the fee is not refunded. In an emergency, such as illness, tell us as soon as you can and we'll try to offer a new date.
- If we need to reschedule, we'll offer a new date, or a full refund if no date suits you.
5. What our advice is, and isn't
- Our advice is for guidance only. Decisions about your renovation, and any contracts you sign, are yours.
- We're not lawyers, and our advice isn't legal advice. For legal questions, consult a lawyer.
- We're not Professional Engineers, and we don't certify structural or building works.
- We don't inspect for, or guarantee against, defects unless we agree a specific site visit in writing.
- We aren't a party to, and aren't responsible for, any contract you sign with an ID, contractor or supplier.
- Rules and figures change. Always check the latest official guidelines (e.g. HDB, BCA, your MCST).
6. Our independence
We don't receive commissions or referral fees from any ID, contractor or supplier, we don't recommend specific firms, and we don't take on renovation work for anyone who books a consultation with us. See our promises.
7. Confidentiality
We keep what you tell us and the documents you share confidential, and use them only to advise you. We don't disclose them to any ID, contractor or other business unless you ask us to, or the law requires it. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
8. Your part
- Share information that is accurate, as our advice depends on it
- Only send documents you're entitled to share. You may cover up details that aren't relevant, such as bank or NRIC numbers.
- Check important decisions with the relevant authority or professional before acting on them
9. Liability
To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a session is limited to the fee you paid for that session. We're not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by third parties such as IDs or contractors.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
10. Your materials and ours
Documents you share with us stay yours, and we treat them as confidential (see our Privacy Policy). Our summaries, checklists and guides are for your personal use and may not be republished.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
