How we're paid
One way only: you pay us for your session or review. That's our whole business model.

What we do
- Explain renovation in plain English, for your home and budget
- Help you set a realistic budget and priorities
- Show you how to check, question and compare IDs and contractors
- Point out risks in quotations, contracts and payment terms you share
- Put our advice in writing, so you can refer back to it
- Tell you when something is outside what we can advise on, and who can help
What we never do
- Recommend a specific ID, contractor or supplier
- Pressure you to book more sessions or to sign with anyone
- Promise that you'll save a certain amount
- Share your quotation or plans with any firm, including the one that wrote them
- Contact your ID or contractor on your behalf unless you ask us to
- Publish anything about your project without your permission
If there's ever a conflict
If we can't judge a firm you're considering neutrally, for any reason, we'll tell you we can't assess it, and show you how to check it yourself.
Your documents stay confidential
Only the consultant advising you reads your quotations and plans. We delete project files within 12 months of your last session, or sooner if you ask. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
